SWEEEEEEET!!! Now it's time to fight in Bal Harbour!!!!

Report Tj

UPDATE on the Bal Harbour Fight! I figured if I laid it all on the line and went in looking super pisssed off it might help. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!!!

Wooooooooohooooooooo!!!!! Bertha delivers the goods! Soooooo pumped with surf stoke, can't wait till that Town Hall Meeting Tuesday night to let it come pouring out! Decided to cut up to South Hutchinson Island with the wifey for a 9th Anniversary weekend and SCORED! Did anyone expect those offshores to last ALL weekend? Friggin amazing!!!!

Behind the hotel was weak and small but goofable for some fun - yet rollin up the road to hit Ft. Pierce Inlet and glad I stopped in at an ole' secret spot I've been going to since High School (and has changed ALOT with County facility upgrades and Frances/Jeanne impacts). Could not believe the OH sets coming in for only a couple miles up the road! Knew I got totally lucky with the "instinct stop" when I heard the the locals in the water thanking each other for the coconut tele call "Ft. Pierce is NOT the spot for this swell".

Did I metion it was CLEAN - like SUPER CLEAN! Pete's pic is spot on! Alright - now it's time to be thankful for the surf and do our part to ensure others can have places to surf in the future. Yeah DAT right y'all know the wave droughts we been through, time to give back to keep the good times rollin - REPRESENT!

Here's the DEALEO, FDOT has called a public Meeting for TOMORROW - Tuesday, July 15th - 7-9pm @ the Gwen Margolis Community Center - 15590 NE 123rd St. North Miami. They're thinking of making the entire parking lot under the Baker's Haulover Bridge permit parking only! This is SERIOUS SHIT - Show some fight in you dog!

C.  look to your right where it says "Latest Photo Galleries".  Now, where are YOUR pics of perfect 75 yard Playalinda rights?

Hope to see you tomorrow at the community center.

BTW, Invest 94 is starting to spin.  Don't be too surprised if it became TD 3 (or is it 4?) by tomorrow.

Well looks like the Bertha swell finally did make it down here. This afternoon we caught a session at Juno pier with clean glassy lines coming in at knee to waist high. Nothing epic like this weekend but still fun to get wet after work. Tide filling in put a damper on this small swell so looks like lower tide was the call of the day here. Maybe again tomorow.

Good for u mr. W. I am off this week. Please text me if you see something today worth driving up for. Knee to waist hight glassy works for me. 305 401 9459.

Later,

swell hanging on by a thread, let's see if it has one last spike, and finally Bertha appears to be in West palm's swell window (perhaps LW as well) her forward motion will probably make thisa low chance of anything reaching down here, but there is the possibility for later wednesday or thursday.

Also appears a low is dropping SW from the N atlantic so perhaps florida may see some long period G swell by end of week from this, probably cent. florida

The  WAM models are hinting the same as you are suggesting, cpick.  However, whatever it may be will neither be big, or long lived - but hey, it's July - you know, typically the flattest month of the year for waves, and it's relatively active.  Take it where you can.  I guess it may be Act III for Bertha.

Don't forget, tonight at Gwen Margolis Center in N. Miami. 7:00pm meeting to hear the voices of the stakeholders regarding the proposed change to permit only parking under Haulover Bridge.  Very important to represent your position and make sure our voices are heard and represented.  The more folks show up, the better.  TJ has really busted his ass for us on this, and we too have taken the time to represent what sdhould not be taken away from us.  If you sleep on this, and not show up, you will have no one to blame but yourself for not taking the time to represent.  If parking at Harbor House and surfing there means anything to you, please take the time to show up.  Thank you.

xavi, as of 12pm there are still knee plus sets rolling in here in n pb. some plus sets were seen but long wait for the better sets. get it before tide does by 7pm.

Mr W.- Thanks for the heads up. It was pouring rain and the traffic was already HELL so I decided to chill here and hope that tomorrow still brings something. After reading cpicks and Mr. B's comments I hope there is still something in the water tomorrow. Hey TEXT me- it is easier for me to get your messages...
Later

intresting set up for late this week into the weekend.

we got a big low moving slowly west around 35 N /50W with a heck of a NE flow on the north side progged by the GFS which coupled w/ bertha's wind field (after about 24 hours) look to point a decent NE fetch this way. Looks like this would be about 13 second period or so and size could be decent. Looks like real size would be lake worth and north event but it's early (and could have rideable's down to delray) btw this would be a weekend deal. (long way to travel)

also appears to be a small chance for some upswing in a NE swell late wednesday into friday from bertha's backside (anywhere down to delray) so who knows keep an eye on the bouys and the cams

Last few days there has been a lazy knee to waist high swell in N. PB and strangely enough none of the surf reports are picking it up or talking about it. Which is good in some way because there was already 20 people on it the last couple days. Seems to work at low tide and shut off around high tide. Interesting. Hope it fills in more. I'll be checking it again this afternoon.

xavi's picture

Mr. W- That is right- I have been checking the reports and cams and it is showing flat conditions althought I thought we would be getting at a minimum a bit of a NE swell from Bertha. PLEASE test me if you see something rideable today. thanks...305 401 9459

Cpick- Several websites are showing some swell for the weekend. I imagine this is what you are talking about. Keep it coming-very usefull.

Finally- Congratulations TJ on yesterday. I did not attend so I probably should be mum on it but wanted to thank you for so much.

Later all,
