"Miami Beach's Surfing Little Book" -Project-

Hello.

My name is Said Fayad, I just moved to Miami to attend the Miami Ad School. When I moved here and saw there was surfing I was pretty surprised, I'm from Colombia so Surfing isn't our strongest point but I never imagined there was any type of surfing here. To my surprise there is. You have probably heard this a million times but from all the places I've gone Miami surfers are the ones with the most heart, out there even in knee high waves, also you guys can paddle like crazy, I hope I'll get as strong as some of the guys I've seen chasing waves out there. I'm fascinated by the surfing community here, and I would really like to do something to be a part of it since this is my new home. For school we have to create some type of book, and what better topic for my little book than the surfing community of Miami Beach. So if you guys could help me get to know some more about the surfing here in Miami Beach that would be great, such as local surf personalities, history on Miami's surfing, pictures, stories, ANYTHING! Whatever I can get will help me make this project the best it could be. Hopefully this little book will be as cool as I imagine it so all of the surfing community in Miami Beach can enjoy it, maybe even if its good enough sell it for fund raisers or whatever.

Email mi anything you want.

He has been surfing South Beach since the 70's and knows all the history and characters.  I have quite a few pictures from the 80's when I was a heavy local there (JK).  We have been talking about collecting history of surfing in South fla so we welcome your efforts.  Email me at Peteferrer@hotmail.com and I will get you some info and Alberts phone #
